These projects are about taking ideas and giving them a physical reality. Through our exploration of different materials, we are constantly seeking new ways of making images and telling stories.
We were asked to build two still life's for Wither Hills 2013 campaign. These installations were designed and built to collapse on command and filmed in super slow motion for the TVC.
We were commissioned by Droga5 and Telstra to build a series of installations using different workplace materials. The installations were about removing distractions from your life, so you can focus on what you do best. It was an awesome project where we sourced a large array of props which we then used to design and build the installations. The installations were shot by the very talented Michael Corridore.
AJF Partners commissioned us to bring to life two ads for the City of Melbourne winter campaign. We designed and built the CBD and Docklands skylines, as well as photographed and styled the shoot. We also created a stop-frame animation for the Melbourne Film festival. The final ads were designed in-house by AJF.
We created a giant sculpture out of hundreds of computer parts for a VISA print campaign. Suspended with heavy weight fishing line inside a massive warehouse space, the sculpture is a jumbled mess from all angles other than the specified viewing point. The campaign promotes the use of VISA in online purchases.
Publicis Mojo and Tourism Victoria commissioned us to create an installation to help promote the Arts in Melbourne. Working with the now famous ball and string – which featured in the Tourism Victoria television commercial – we built a three-dimensional sculpture to half scale which was then digitally placed into the laneway.
Lavazza and Mojo Wines commissioned us to design the interior of the Lavazza Marquee for Stakes Day at the 2011 Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. We filled the space with large characters and bold black and white patterns with accents of gold. We suspended flags across the room and installed a large wall mural to bring everything together. In addition, we created matching invites embossed with gold; t-shirts in collaboration with Honor Among Thieves and graphics specifically designed for the Lavazza X Mojo Twitter and Facebook pages. It was an awesome project which ended with a fun day at the races.
Together with Right Angle Studio, Karl Maier and Darcel Disappoints, we created a nine hole mini golf course for the PUMA SOCIAL launch party! To fit with PUMA's campaign theme 'The after hours athlete' each hole was inspired by a different aspect of a big night out. We designed three holes – the 'bottle shop', the 'taxi driver', and the 'party trick'. In an art imitates life imitates art sort of way, the night ended just as the last holes in the golf course predicted, with a 'hamburger' and a 'walk of shame'!
As part of Rosemount Australia Fashion Week 2010, Vice magazine threw a party for Lee jeans, and we were commissioned to decorate the space. The venue was a huge warehouse in historic Haymarket, originally a wool shed and then a chocolate factory. We created a large mural, suspended diorama and animated projection to recreate a stylised and surreal factory space.
